Local MP visits Abbotswood Pharmacy in latest pursuit of improved health services

Luke Hall, Member of Parliament for Thornbury and Yate, recently visited Abbotswood Pharmacy as he continues to promote and support improving health centres and services across South Gloucestershire.

The MP, who lives in Yate, has been involved in a range of campaigns to help improve health services in the community, and has welcomed Abbotswood’s efforts in providing care and advice to residents in the Abbotwood area.

Following his visit, Luke said: ''It was a great pleasure to meet Ade and the team at Abbottswood Pharmacy. The work they have been involved with within the community is impressive, and as a Yate resident and the MP I would like thank them for their work and support they provide to residents in Yate, particularly their advice on healthy living."

Mr Hall and Abbotswood Pharmacist, Ade Williams, enjoyed a thorough discussion about the work the Pharmacy is currently undertaking, and in addition discussed some of the challenges which local pharmacies currently face.

On this matter, Luke commented, “My visit provided me with a clear insight into the issues facing local pharmacies such as Abbotswood, and I will be doing all I can to ensure the town and villages across South Gloucestershire receive the very best healthcare possible.”

Offering help with keeping fit, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, the Pharmacy focuses on educating about the dangers of drugs, smoking and the importance of staying active. A wide range of medical needs are also tackled by Abbotswood, including asthma and prescriptions for infections, allergies, and skin ailments.
