Following the news that a full Business Case has now been submitted to the Department for Health and Social Care, Luke Hall MP has held a crunch meeting with the Health Minister Lord Markham, to push for the full and final funding that is needed in order to upgrade Thornbury Health Centre.
It was recently confirmed that after dedicated ground work and regular talks between the local MP and the Integrated Care Board for South Gloucestershire, detailed plans to redevelop Thornbury Health Centre were taken to South Gloucestershire Council and final proposals have now been submitted to Government Ministers, seeking further funding.
In an urgent meeting secured by the Thornbury MP, Luke set out the details of the Business Case with the Minister, which include plans to enhance primary care support for the community, and asked that funding be urgently granted, so the physical construction and redevelopment of the Heath Centre can take place without any further delay.
Luke said, “Meeting with the Minister was a key opportunity to ensure that we do not lose momentum in our campaign, and it is so important that the extensive plans that have been submitted to the Department of Health receive full attention.”
“I’ve once again, made the case to the Health Minister that we desperately need this funding. We have waited for far too long, and must now get on with the job and redevelop Thornbury’s Health Centre not just for future generations but our town and villages now.”
